Horrible place to stay. Walked in the very first day and was hit by a horrible stench of cigarettes and mold. There was a sign on the night stand that read "we thank you for not smoking," which I found hysterical. The beds were anything but comfortable, and I woke up to bites on my hand, which was later found to be bed bugs. The bathroom was barely operable, due to it being smaller than the size of the average kitchen pantry. Cigarette butts littered the outdoor area along with the smell of Marijuana seaping in through the windows. There was a very large pocket knife left on the floor from the previous visitor, which is very alarming that housekeeping never found it. Sheets, blankets and towels were never switched out and were dirty to begin with. The breakfast was lacking, not much more than cereal and the usual bread products. The staff were courteous enough to try to switch us to a new room, but we had other arrangements made. Overall not a great place to stay unless for a one night stint.
STAY AWAY from EconoLodge!! Rat in the room!?! Yes, in another EconoLodge near Charlotte, NC, airport. But this room was filthy - it was not vacuumed, bathroom had dirt and public hair on floor, toilet & back of toilet seat. There were even 'skid' marks in toilet bowl. Bedding top was dirty. Faucet hot and cold were transposed, tissue box empty, toilet paper low. Smoke smell from next room vented directly into our room. Our clothes smelled of smoke the next morning. Breakfast items ran out early - only bread items and juice/coffee were left. Attendant said they had no refills. Management did not care nor did housekeeping. We have given EconoLodge several chances at various locations; they are all terrible and we will NEVER stay at any EconoLodge again. Please, go ANYWHERE else.
They still have smoking rooms which is gross. I asked for a king sized bed online only to find out that it was smoking when I got there and it was given away despite my reservation. Still charged the same amount for a single queen room. The power on the television kept browning out. The toilet seat was loose and kept moving when one was sitting on it. The workers are nice people but it doesn't make up for the fact that this is a real s**thole. At least there weren't any sketchy people staying there that I noticed.
Wasn't the best service. But rooms were clean. Smelled like smoke but was nice. Would stay again if discounted rooms are available
Infested with spiders. Staying here for work and have been bitten at least three times in my sleep. Have killed several in my room. I wouldnt recommend it. Breakfast is mediocre at best.
